Grow Your Vision

Green Room Counseling was originally conceptualized on the long journey home from a tour prep due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although not new, the pandemic laid bare many of the challenges inherent in the touring lifestyle, including access, stigma, and awareness of mental health and its impacts on year-round and long-term wellness.

We celebrate the diversity of talents, identities, and experiences that come together to create events and memorable productions. We are neurodivergent-affirming LGBTQ+ allies, and believe you are the expert in your own lived experience.

Whatever your identity, background, genre, or role, we are glad you are here.

Mission

It is our mission to provide accessible mental health counseling to touring and production pros in a manner that fits their lifestyle, expectations, and needs so they can get back to the work they love.

Your Green Room Counselor

 Gabrielle Scheff, LMHC

Gabi Scheff is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), who blends her clinical expertise with insights from over ten years of touring and local production work. In addition to entertainment pros, she has an affinity for working with young adults and adults exploring neurodiversity and life transitions.

Gabi got her start in production at a regional lighting shop and quickly found her passion as a lighting technician and programmer. With a performance and design background in music, theatre, and dance, she found that concert production truly scratched her itch for blending the creative and technical. Once she got a taste for touring, she discovered how meaningful and fulfilling it was to meet new folks from all walks of life at every venue.

Gabi holds a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Merrimack College, in addition to a BA in Theatre Design and a minor in music performance from Rhode Island College. Gabi's lived experience also includes years of participation on- and off-stage in music, theatre, and dance productions prior to becoming a production professional.

Gabi’s ideal roadie day off would involve a long walk, a craft doughnut, a call home, and exploring a local landmark from Atlas Obscura. What’s yours?

Vision

We work to support increased awareness and reduced stigma around mental health in these industries. This includes networking and collaborating with other organizations to strengthen individuals' access to services, and to improve employers' awareness of the options they have to better support their freelancers, contractors, artists, and employees.
